Last month I got to have a little fun creating this beautiful vintage elopement styled shoot with the help of an incredible team. I think doing styled shoots is one of the great parts of being a wedding planner. It give you space to let your creativity flow and is a wonderful opportunity to work and get to know other vendors in the industry. Not to say that doing the rest of my job of “wedding planning” is not great. I love doing that but one of the reasons I got into wedding planning was to let my creativity flow and sometimes you have clients who trust you and your style and sometimes you have clients who want to pick it all themselves. So doing a styled shoot gives me the freedom to play with new things or do something I’ve been dying to do but none of my clients want. Its also great because I get to vibe off of other vendors and let their ideas help create something.

My inspiration for this shoot started with blue hydrangeas and eventually turned into this vintage elopement inspiration. They are on of my favourite flowers and whenever I think of vintage for whatever reason hydrangeas always come to mind. Probably because they remind me of delicate lace which I often associate with vintage.
Originally I planned to have something more elaborate but due to restrictions I had to significantly pair down to something much simpler which ended up being spectacular and more fun anyways. One of my favourite styled shoots was based on a couch underneath a beautiful old tree. I loved how simple yet elegant it was and I wanted to do something similar but with a twist. The bistro table and chairs provided by Modern Luxe Rentals were inspired by a French themed shoot I saw not a month before planning and we rolled with it!
We had jewelry designed by Joanna Bisley to accent our beautiful vintage elopement to match our dress. Each one of her pieces are created with care and designed solely by her.
The next idea came when I started thinking about flowers. I wanted something to give dimension and height which is when I came up with the lanterns with flowers, I wanted it to feel like the flowers were growing right on the pieces. Sweet bloom created the beautiful texture of which gave the blooms a more causal and organic feel like they were growing naturally in the wild and she came up with the idea to add moss into the lanterns themselves to help bring it al together.
I love champagne pops and how they come out in pictures! It creates real and honest faces in couples that I love to see in photos. Thanks to our friends at Willow Park Wines and Spirits we were able to capture one of these moments during out shoot with Ferrari Trento Sparkling Wine! It definitely created some fun faces from our couple.
The Dress
My favourite piece of this vintage elopement shoot was the STUNNIN’ dress we barrowed from Durand Bridal. It brought an elegant feel with a hint of vintage. It boasts of intricate details like a double train, buttons all the way down to the bottom of the train, subtle hints of sparkles on the lace that when hit just right created a glow. This lovely dress was complimented by the gorgeous jewelry Created by Joanna Bisley Designs. The delicate pins we add to her hair brought a little bit of the glimmer up along with the breathtaking earrings that popped
